Alexander Wang’s design prowess is limitless. The New York based designer proves his ability to create innovative pieces with each season release from his own line. Although the hype has largely been focused on his forthcoming H&M collaboration; Wang’s S/S15 collection should not be overlooked. The predictable elements were there, but rather than feeling overdone, Wang once again manages to reinvent his staple pieces. Utilitarian cuts created rigid, military inspired looks. Working with his traditional neutral palette: midnight navy and rich burgundy punctuate the collection. As expected, a myriad of fabrics have been used to create each garment. Buckles, oversized pockets and drawstring detailing add to the practical vibe of the pieces. Wang again succeeds in showing he is a master at creating functional, simplistic menswear.
