Bryan Formhals was previously a writer who had moved to West Hollywood to pursue his dream of screenplay. In 2006 however, he traded his pen for his camera due to an episode of writer block that engulfed his work and writing. He abandoned his screenplays and chose instead to trek up and down the streets of Hollywood in search of his shots. Feverishly, rampantly and in eager stride he began to photograph the world around him, saying he felt compulsion to do so because he needed to remember this part of his life. He knew he wouldn’t be living in Hollywood for long and he didn’t want to forget what Tinsel Town was really like. Capturing the colours, style and people of Hollywood became his mission not so impossible and so it was his photo series’ were born.
