A new project by Colombian born, London based designer Daniel Ramos Obregon is inspired by the concept of outrospection. Taking inspiration from the works of philosopher Roman Kznaric, and the idea that to know oneself one must live on the outside, the collection is an experimental look at the discovery of one’s body, shape and self. In his exploration of this complex notion, Obregon considered out of body experiences and astral projections represented in a metaphorical way. In this collection the mind is presented outside of the body. Daniel has always been interested in the relationship between art, fashion and performance and for a way in which to find a meeting point for these mediums. Outrospection: The Body and the Mind is an interesting and highly creative project in which he has fused together different worlds. All of the pieces in the project are created from porcelain body casts with gold plated brass metal frames around the body. The handles are hand turned Colombian kingwood and harnesses are made form vegetable tanned leather. For the slip casting, Daniel worked with ceramicist Kate Luck.
