Time will change us, but apparently not David Bowie. After releasing his latest single, “Where Are We Now,” earlier this January, an exhibit in his likeness follows suit. From the 23rd of March to the 26th of July, visitors of the London Victoria and Albert Museum will be able to enjoy a four-decade spanning retrospective of Bowie’s musical career, aptly titled David Bowie Is. The museum had free-ranging access to the David Bowie archive, where it will feature over three hundred iconic items from the popstar’s life, including handwritten lyrics and set lists, iconoclastic costumes from The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, and vintage photographs of Bowie shot by world famous photographers Bruce Weber and Brian Duffy.
Curators Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh will lead the exhibit, where they will emphasize Bowie’s tight-knit relationship with photographers, artists, and designers that have nicely complimented his music career over the years. In addition, visitors may attend the Curator Talk featuring Broackes and Marsh and purchase a signed collector’s edition book (which is limited to a mere 500 copies), which is signed by the very man himself.
Exhbition : 23 March – 26 July | Tickets : £15 and £9 for students
