Boho hippie chic invades the streets of Tokyo for Etudes Spring Summer 2014 collection. The Paris-based fashion label demonstrates a casual laid back visual with a digital pop edge. There are many key Japanese elements to the fashion story such as the turtle rain jackets in fruity blues and yellows which can be seen in many Harajuku boutiques. In addition The Harem pants inspired by the samurai and village attire are staples in many Japanese collections while many numbers in the lookbook feature a ‘kawaii’ attitude with neon color blocking. The artists behind Edutes, Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry have managed to combine these teen friendly Tokyo looks with a more sophisticated European flair with the thigh length shorts and casual button ups reminding us of earlier Paris and Milan fashion week looks. What’s there not to love?
