A clean and choreographed take on pared-down basics, Études Studio A/W15 brings smart, sports and street silhouettes into immaculate cohesion. Boldly patriotic hues of red, white and blue are distracted only by black and strategic prints or type; prints are in fact comparatively minimalist to previous collections, allowing colour and cut to become the primary focus. Although simple at first glance, even the most basic of details are imbued with conceptual meaning. 24-7-365 is contextualised by paper-like grids, cityscape prints and efficient details to connote the never-ending banality of working life. Polished brogues and crisp collars get more corporate by the second. Given the intricacy of the collection- in all of its facets- it is no surprise that the Parisian label counts artist, Aurélien Arbet and graphic designer, Jérémie Egry amongst its creative directors. Yet, despite this design prestige, Études Studio unswervingly maintains its fantastic wearability factor.
