The details of this collection excellently demonstrate Kathleen Kye’s prowess as a designer. Her attention to motifs and themes give her work an almost narrative cohesion, which ensures character, but never at the expense of chic and very wearable clothes. The KYE SS15 offering’s finest moments are probably the embroidery and appliqué, which features (somehow adorable) bees stitched onto sweaters and tees. Or that intricate cut-out work, reminiscent of chainmail links, which was reprised elsewhere. Perhaps the sequinned pieces were unnecessary, but they could be argued as an interpretation of honeycomb and thus a complementary reference to the bees, which would be really rather lovely.
