Recognised by their swimwear and resort style, Orlebar Brown drew inspiration from vintage leisurewear of the 1960’s as well as the Monaco Grand Prix for this colour-heavy Spring Summer collection. Adding a fun twist and offering more of an ‘option’ for customers, the collection was divided into three categories; spectators, drivers and crew/pit stops with a slightly different feel to each. The ‘spectators’ pieces oozed with both style and comfort, the ‘drivers’ graced an unexpected yet truly exciting collaboration of thick waterproof fabrics, some classic tailoring and soft, sporty sweats whilst the ‘crew’ sported t-shirts embellished with an Orlebar Brown ‘logo’ at the breast almost like a quirky team uniform.
The colour palette for this season embraced both the summery and eye-catching blends of pastel shades as well as the primary colours. Palm trees and Monaco 2013 racing posters graced the show space as Breton stripes mingled with postcard prints depicting warm, sandy beach scenes.
Overall, the collection was both bold, eye-catching and extremely necessary for men wanting to maintain that certain level of sophistication whilst dressing down. If you aren’t afraid to overdose in shades of tangerine orange, beach prints and summer hats, meet us at the start line… The race is about to begin!
