Things were a little less rebellious at Ada x Nik this season; for AW15, the label offered up a more refined take on their luxe ‘dark matter’ aesthetic, perhaps representing a new maturity in designer Ada Zanditon, as well as the overall more commercial leaning trend taking place in industry as a whole. Ada x Nik still found unique ways of innovation; in wearable tech (the Narrative Jacket) and in those now signature boundary pushing looks that blur the gender lines. The collection was defiantly hyper masculine, sporty and grunge, and the brand continued to excel in those things it does best; most notably the sublime architecturally structured leather jackets that most of us would sell our Mothers for. The duo are also commendable in their commitment to being an ‘ethical’ brand, and it was a great pleasure to witness the bespoke piece created in partnership with Holloway Prison inmates. Bravo!
