In a season that has already been dubbed the ‘invasion of the Americans’, Christopher Shannon, one of London’s brightest stars, continued his irreverent love affair with that peculiarly British street culture. Subculture and subversion are the designers trademarks, and his witty take on the sartorial splendour of the ‘chav’ was another tour de force. Colour aplenty with ironic slogan knits, ‘shredded’ reconstructed trackies, puffa jackets and custom created CAT Footwear; hyper masculine ‘Youth’ wear. Shannon kept it green too, providing useful ways of recycling those shitty plastic bags; hats say, or as accessories wrought by Judy Blame, which should go down a storm with the JD Sports bag toting brigade.
