Merging the opposite is always an interesting and excitingly unpredictable process which seems to keep the creative force of Belgian designer Marius Petrus constantly on the go. Inspired by the Greek god of Southern wind, Notus and the designer’s fascination with innovation in clothing, the new SS14 line offers a fresh approach to the concept of light movement through the use of aerodynamic silhouettes and bold eye-catching prints with clear influences from abstract art. For that purpose, a variety of fabrics ranging from techno wools and agile nylon to sturdy cottons were used so that each piece would both look and feel light and breathable. The collection which was recently showcased during Paris Fashion Week, does not only see the use of interesting materials but also that of interesting shapes. Skinny blazers are matched with loose shorts and bomber jackets with tailored shirts and trousers composing a fashion forward and visually intriguing look.
