As the younger, slightly more subdued brother of the Alexander McQueen, the McQ line has always been able to push a fashion message in wearable and unique ways. The latest collection for spring/ summer 2016 is no different, with its contemporary nod to punks and mods. These themes are not uncommon to fashion, having held high regard as British subcultures for decades, but in the McQ collection, the trend is lighter than it ever has been. The use of navy, grey and white keeps things relaxed. Where print is used, it is graphic but never over powering. An impressive collection, which is both commercial and conceptual, the dramatic pleated trousers and super light bomber jacket are both deserving of special mention.
