Frantically sprinting off the closest B Train shivers went through my body as I shook in excitement. It could have been my 10th cup of coffee that evening or my mere enthusiasm to see this presentation up close and personally. Christine Alcalay has been on my radar for about a year now since her unquestionably magnificent presentation last S/S New York fashion week season. I have faithfully fallen for her expert use on tinted hues, delicate fabrics and sweet solids that bring together the most exceptional pieces.
Finally arriving, I scooted my 4’10 frame past the entire crowd so I was able to catch a better interpretation. What I feasted my eyes upon was the best sense of detail I have ever seen. From pinks to lace (my personal favorite) every piece was the exact illustration of any girl’s summer dream. Draping so elegantly upon every model’s frame, Chritine Alcalay has a gift of making each of her garments in such a “one of a kind” fashion. Whether it was floral or blocks of feminine shades the room was lit with a flawless use of tints, decoration and customization to a women’s body. To say that I was mesmerized would be an understatement. I was floored and watching the creator of these masterpieces come out for her final applause was heart warming in its own right.
