Ever since 2012, the philosophy behind independent label Orphan Bird, has been one of producing clothing that reinterprets traditional tailoring through futuristic twists rather than following fleeting trends. The unique vision of Italian designer, Ciro Supino and Swedish photographer, Sara Lohman, also becomes evident in the label’s latest offering for AW15, entitled ‘Maze’. Heavily inspired by the idea of interconnected pathways and delusive turns, the new collection features an array of criss-crossed layers, harsh angular cut-outs and of course Orphan Bird’s most favourite colour scheme, that of black and white. Gender-blurring shapes also add to the overall theme, turning ‘Maze’ into a highly conceptual but very wearable collection, perfect for every season.
