The SS15 collection from Plùs que ma vie strives for excellence in that middle ground where so many labels are pitching their proverbial tents as of late. Perhaps it isn’t a middle ground, as such, rather real-life balance. Or balance for real-life. Designer Andrea Lazzari’s pieces boast palpable character, but not at the cost of subtle details that give his collections wearability for the everyman. And in this age of normcore and other reminders that we are collectively moving away from fantasy and towards reality, that seems to be a smart ethos.
This latest collection features bright prints and cool updates to classic tailoring, be that in raw hems or trousers that feature drawstring ankles. Many looks in the editorial (shot in an aquarium because the collection is entitled Aquarium. Again, less fantasy, more – albeit a little ironic – reality) have a certain sportiness about them, while others render a familiar look of a rocker. Somewhere between Pete Doherty and a Gallagher brother.
