Having just graduated with a BA in Womenswear from Limerick School of Art and Design in Ireland, Sarah Ryans’ start up label has already drawn the attention by receiving various awards including Designer of the Year by the Irish Designer Institute. Her latest creation, the A/W 13-14 graduate collection ‘Corpus Fraterna’ is based on the idea of building a newly formed body from the inside out. Clothes in achromatic black investigate the inner parts of the human body with designs reminiscent of muscle bundles and bones creating a new and unique silhouette. Statement pieces in simple lines, tailored trousers, tops with a high neck and heavy cordlike garments used as accessories compose what seems to be a debut of very high standards. Ryan’s craftsmanship, originality and beauty make her a promising designer worth following.
