Even though she has worked in the advertising field for brands such as Kenzo, and she has designed the cover of Wax Tailor’s latest album, Rebecca Dautremer is mostly known for her illustrations in famous children’s books. In her drawings the element of tenderness is particularly strong and this is maybe why she’s children’s favorite. Of course Dautremer is also appreciated amongst adults, as her romantic and nostalgic style tends to remind us of times more carefree, but at the same time the extensive use of the red color gives us an energetic and passionate feeling. Something very characteristic of her work is the fact that she uses many tiny details, a hair, a little letter or a butterfly, that make you discover something new every time you look at her drawings. In Rebecca Dautremer’s special universe, everything matters and everything has its place, something that she manages to maintain in every field she might be working.
