The Tate, London, are hosting an exhibition that explores New York and Tokyo through photographs by William Klein and Daido Moriyama. This is the first exhibition to study the work of both these artists in conjunction to one another. Photographer and filmmaker Klein is known for his use of unusual photographic techniques in capturing both photojournalism and fashion photography. Whilst Moriyama is the most celebrated photographer to emerge from the Japanese Provoke movement in the 1960s. Dates of the work range from the 1950s to present day, sharing their interests in uprising, politics and socialism through their conveyance of street life, anti-war protests and urban deprivation amongst other subjects.
