It may be grey on the outside, but in Thom Browne’s heart and Spring/Summer 2014 menswear collection, things are looking navy. The avant-garde designer presented twelve brand-new and extra polished looks that could cause legitimate envy to both fashionistas and sailormen. Impeccably tailored trousers and subtly printed shirts of course played their part in that, but the true show-stealers were the jackets: in navy, red, grey and silver, with strong shoulders or flared hems and beautiful embellishment of little anchors taking the place of chevrons. Without a doubt, Browne raised pretty high the bar on how you do next-level navy this spring.
