Clean lines and functionality are the key themes to emerge from the new lookbook unveiled by Danish label WOOD WOOD. Entitled “Utopia”, the collection, which was first showcased at Copenhagen Fashion Week in August 2013, is inspired by recent political unrest in Europe and the possibility of a new future, the French revolution and French architecture, especially Le Corbusier. With Utopia, WOOD WOOD remains faithful to their Scandinavian origins and technical sportswear accomplishments are furthered. The modern and classic influences are evident in the marrying of clean, lean lines, on a colour palette of navy blue and white. The collection has a collegiate, sportswear feel which is followed through by the socks and hats, and the marble print which features throughout the collection. The addition of oversized T shirts is unexpected but nevertheless welcome.
