With a visually engaging and artistic lookbook, Kuiters enhances his unique and straight cut clothing with a colourful and abstract setting to frame the garments. A range of t-shirts including a palette of yellow, cream, white and black block colouring are included in the A/W13 range, alongside patterned t-shirts and an array of layered outfits.
Previous Adriaan Kuiters designs from 2012 collections highlight simplicity and a less artistic/high fashion approach. It is apparent that as a designer he has expanded his vision and embraced the combination of art and fashion as one art form. Lots of the t-shirts are teamed with a camel coloured cigarette pant, others with a black pant, but the focus is predominantly on the t-shirts and the beautifully cut slightly oversized black jacket.
The collection even offers underwear- a line of paint running down over the crotch maintains naughty suggestions- hiding any exposure and leaving us curious of the entire shape and fit of the underwear. The photography manipulates the clothing in unnatural ways- a suit jacket is forced in an unnatural position, so that we get a slight glimpse at the shape and form of it.
