For Balenciaga’s 2015 Men’s Autumn/Winter collection, Alexander Wang took inspiration from rocks, concretes and other mineral landscape elements. It should be of no surprise that the colour palette falls on the black and grey spectrum with a tinge of granite prints here and there. Albeit, the clothes are much more than this simple conclusion. The American designer always seems to succeed in pouring his own aesthetic visions onto his Balenciaga designs while staying true to the brand’s heritage. Seamless constructions and architectural finishings are especially present in the coats and other outerwear pieces which are cut very minimally in an innovative fashion. The effort of discreet details put into the pieces and the materials also deserves a nod of appreciation. Integrated epaulettes and pockets, leather parkas and magnetic buckles on classic suit jackets are just some of the examples. Overall the new range looks incredibly sharp, making it impossible not to instantly fall in love with it.
