The recent slew of shows at Paris Men’s Fashion Week have been criticized for their lack of originality and having stuck to tried and tested formulas. Balenciaga was one of the brands that played it safe for SS16, while of course expanding on their signature aesthetic vision. Opting for a lookbook and presentation format as opposed to a catwalk show, the menswear on display included strong and slick tailoring, favouring a slim and straight silhouette. With these there were an abundance of lace up leather boots. Shades of black, camel and grey dominated the collection, with the occasional splash of camo print.
