Boys Left Girls Right champions unisex design. Creating clothing “suited to one’s personality rather than anatomy,” a casual one-size-fits-all approach is at the heart of the brand. This ethos extends too to BLGR’s deliberate elusion of seasonality, opting simply for numbered collections intended for daily wear throughout the seasons.
The #2 collection is fittingly unpretentious, centering around a covetable, yet decidedly utilitarian take on basics. The sports-casual garments are exclusively black, white and grey, allowing the eye to be drawn towards textural contrasts, futuristic detailing and prints. Multiple pockets and strap detailing play on the idea that the clothing itself eliminates the need for on-the-go storage. Witty features such as in-built rucksack straps on the front of a sweatshirt- yet no bag to the rear- maintain the visual appeal of the accessory, whilst cleverly doing away with the baggage. BLGR takes itself with a pinch of salt in what is an increasingly frenetic and saturated industry- what could be more refreshing than that?
