It’s Daniel against the world and he is ready to take action. Lights are of no necessity. The symbol nostalgia portrayed in his latest series transcribes a childlike nightmare; whimsical in nature with just the right amount of darkness for that extra edge. Oversized happy faces closing curves and characatures of underground railroads steer near. The new line is inspired by the designer’s own attempt to generate clothing with a certain empowering feeling that make you want to wear your pajamas to work and do what you like. This is empashized through the use of oversized silhouettes, bold prints with grunge references and the clear Tokyo street style influences which altogether compose perhaps Daniel Palillo’s greatest and most elaborate collection over his seven year course as a fashion designer.
