Reminiscent of Bridget Riley, the James Long SS13 collection bore stripes, patterns and squiggles in an almost monochrome palette of dusty shades of sand and black. The presentation displayed on mannequins at London Fashion Week this September featured knitwear and intricate textile details of woven fabrics and texture throughout the collection.
Two piece outfits and dresses featured throughout the collection, with pleats, ruffles and buckled detailing adding a tough edge onto the already tough aesthetics of the monochrome collection. Cut out detailing also featured adding a sensuous aspect to the collection of summery knitwear. Silhouettes were relatively baggy and not too clung to the body as is in trend this season.
James Long, who is known for his knitwear and textiles championship for both men and women has also recently undertaken a collaboration with high street giant Topman featuring knitwear classics for the colder months, due to hit the shops from the 12th of November.
