Erika Mizuno and Yuta Yajima met in the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Soon their friendship turned into a design partnership, with the opening of their own atelier in Tokyo. Today the duo works under the name Kielo. The latest collection of the creative couple has been designed for the Spring/Summer 2013 season. Well-mannered collars are paired with shiny smart boots, and the gender borders are being effaced with heavy-looking skirts, trinkets and lace. Gothic elements, similar to what one would expect from a Tim Burton movie, blend in harmony with hints of a childlike innocence to create a lookbook which has feels like the pages of an illustrated Japanese tale.
