Konstantin Kofta’s work is the essence of originality. Characterised by his avant-garde take on the accessory in particular, his work throughout the seasons has been founded upon a profusion of conceptual influences- from the raw beauty of the human form to the physics of the subatomic world. It is the latter concept that rules the Kofta SS15 ‘Intertia’ collection.
At first glance, ‘Inertia’ seems overwhelmingly futuristic; the lookbook, omitting the face, creates an enigmatic and otherworldly sense of gender neutrality. The raw and uniformed geometry of the pieces brings to mind the perfect forms of subatomic matter, which transcend universal time and space- reminding us of the relative unimportance of humanity. Of course, beneath the highly conceptual nature of the collection is an inherent wearability; the spherical clutch bag is immediately covetable, at once elegantly geometric and full of movement. It is this inventive and exceptionally crafted approach to fashion, “outside the traditional canons” of the industry, which makes Kofta such an inimitable force in fashion.
