Reworking the past but staying fashion-forward may seem almost impossible for many but not for Joseph Turvey, whose AW14 collection, CASH IN, not only paid tribute to past collections but also proposed a new look by combining in an unconventional, almost delightfully kitsch way, experimental textiles with sportswear inspired silhouettes and embroidered-designs. A teaser video, released just a few days ago, gave us a little taste of what was to come but you can never be sure with such an innovative designer. Faithfull to his signature style, Turvey presented an array of prints, be it digital or hand-embroidered, on a nice mix of basics such as coats, jackets, cropped trousers and jumpers – all matched with athletic socks and sneaker shoes, keeping things on the fun side. Needless to say the new collection was definitely worth cashing in.
