Katie Eary can always be relied upon for injecting some serious colour and subversion into the LCM proceedings. This season she took the teen dream rock and roll rebel on a techno trip; the result being the skater boys of Southbank meeting up with Venice Beach’s rebels. Eary referenced the sexual revolution inspired by Elvis Presley, in which outwardly wholesome young men, flaunted that which seethed beneath the veneer, a potent and self aware sexuality that would no longer be hidden out of deference. The designers debasing of My Little Pony, which she incorporated into her Fifties heavy collection, was case in point.
