Recent years have seen a revolution quietly taking form in fashion, with a young British designer leading the pack and throwing down the gauntlet to the status quo. Matthew Miller, a designer who grows leaps and bounds with each season he presents, his legend growing stealthily but surely. His SS16 collection was a tour de force in which Miller defines the ‘new punk’. It was a vocal, emotional response to the constraints imposed by society’s conventions (luggage tags bearing ‘conform’, ‘control’ and ‘restrain’ were placed on the wrists of his models) and its crimes. To quote one of the designer’s personal friends in attendance at the show “Miller is fucking amazing”. Have to say we couldn’t agree more; to truly invoke a positive change in this World, we must all embrace Miller’s post punk ethos.
