The ever so youthful brand of Opening Ceremony, debuts their newest SS collection for 2014 with inspiration straight from Korean culture. Designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon translated Korea’s cultural diversity into hanbok robes, and geometric color blocking and bordering. Traditional construction techniques from Korea were also featured within the collection in the form of pojagi, which is a style of patchwork cloth wrapping. These features take the collection in a different direction than other contemporary menswear brands currently being released. Shorts, printed sweatshirts, and slim-cut sweatpants make this collection ready-to-wear , and they also pay tribute to South Korea’s national bird, the Korean Magpie within some prints.
