We’re all accepting the love we think we deserve. Six Lee‘ s successful attempt at the interpretation of love and the modes in which us as human beings express them has made this spring summer collection both passionate and quite possibly a header of fashion. Taking inspiration from a number of celebrated love poets through the ages, many historical references have helped mould every single one of these pieces into a modern, accessible menswear collection.
Love has a way of enveloping those that dare fall within its grasp; controlling ones physical, spiritual and emotional senses. In this very same way, the dispersed petal prints and deep yet subtle shades of blue seen throughout Six Lee’s SS14 collection are just enough to protect the wearer, whilst leaving certain parts of the body exposed. This comes in the form of their tactful shorts, 3/4 length trouser pants and sleeveless, button up shirts.
It could be forgiven if one were to automatically assume that the whole collection would be predominantly pink or red with such heavy emphasis on the topic of love, but unexpectedly, there are more blues, metallics and whites than anything. Every detail was clearly taken into consideration by the designer who states that “the colour blue was chosen as it represents a sophisticated heart and is the deepest emotion within..” What better way to represent such a powerful form than in the state it is in before even leaving the body..
A wonderful collection overall with exciting fabric blends and an extraordinary outcome considering the limits put on colour choices. From smart yet street savvy blazers, fitted sleeves and long, ankle grazing overcoats, experience romanticism at its most masculine .
