It was three years ago when we first introduced you to Tokyo-based label Kielo; and all their amazing work. Since then a lot has happened including many successful collections and an amazing Chasseur X Kielo; collaboration for the label’s AW14 campaign. Now, one of the two co-creators, Yuta Yajima, has decided to embark on a new journey and we are more than excited to present you with his solo vision for Spring Summer 2016. Entitled, Lords Of My Empire, the menswear offering features a whole new direction inspired by ideas associated with the so-called American Dream and its deconstruction. Using primarily denim as his fabric of choice, Yajima has put all emphasis on streetwear that showcase best his rougher designer side, with carefully placed rips and ‘sloppy’ cuts setting the tone for the entire collection. As with his previous works, original prints also make their appearance, this time in the form of graphics and embroidered patches, inspired by the American flag and its colours. The new offering also comes with a beautifully-shot campaign; highly-ifluenced from Yajima’s starting inspiration point- the cult skater film ‘Lords Of Dogtown’.
