French menswear designer Misomber Nuan has created a particularly engaging collection this season. Based on a black palette, the pieces embody character and hidden messages entwined within the drape and fold of every layered scarf or deconstructed, thick sleeved coat present in the collection. The editorial shots put the viewer on edge and aim to disturb. The scenes are eerie, yet engage the reader rather than making them nervous or uncomfortable. It requires a special talent to be able to engage with the wearer without being too obvious or direct in the message or story intending to be told. The editorials go from a simple advertisement platform for a few staple pieces to a form of art. Enticing the viewer into the very depth of the storyline without even being present most definitely does well in bringing each piece.
The collection was shot in and around derelict grounds making excellent use of both natural and artificial light. Look out for unusual shapes and draped hoods to oversized, re-constructed coats, curved zips, exciting bell-bottom influenced pants and many more. Not one to look past and defnitely not one to loose buzz!
