KTZ are known for their harsh, often extreme looks that walk the avant garde end of the fashion spectrum, but for AW14 we saw a collection of abject beauty. There was a certain poetry to the KTZ gothic romance, and amongst the signature hip hop and street inspired looks, infused with influences from Middle Eastern cultures, a more demure, pretty and girlish look emerged, attired in structured shapes. Femininity where it appeared was juxtaposed with tough, heavy metal hardware accessories and chunky multi buckled combat boots, just as the dainty intricacy of many designs offsets the severity of their form. Indeed, KTZ create stunning pieces that elicit gasps upon appearance, clothing so carefully and elaborately detailed that is a form of art. The collection was monochrome almost in entirety, barring flashes of show stopping intergalactic metallics with C-3PO’s golden armoured girlfriend closing the show.
