Inspired by old school war movies and a roll call of the brand’s heroes, the autumn/ winter range from Denmark based Wood Wood features some impressive items that stay true to the label’s classic and pared down approach to fashion. It is war movies of the 50s and 60s like The Guns of Navarone that were the starting point of the collection with uniform shapes and shades (khaki, olive green and navy blue) thrown together with heroes as wide ranging as author Karen Blixen, rapper Tupac Shakur and deep sea explorer Jacques Cousteau who are all immortalised on a shirt print that features their faces. It is the more subtle pieces in the collection that are most impressive though – the outerwear is superb with the hooded toggle peacoat and puffa style jacket both impressing. Simple checks, jersey joggers, sneakers and bucket hats made from bonded blends, nylon, wool and premium jersey make up the rest of the collection.
