The Scandinavian fashion scene is mostly known for the sober minimalism, transparent clarity and distinct purity of its design, almost like a fashionable depiction of its famous naked cold landscapes. The work of Martin Asbjørn Bjerre is no exception. His S/S 15′ presentation deals with the concept of “urban safari” – where a variety of basic pieces such as cashmere blazers, knit pants, leather jackets and more, come together in shades of black, white, grey, blue and some pastels. The versatile and highly functional nature of the new line allows many different combinations while the designer’s choice to incorporate elements of sportswear throughout, adds to the overall effect. Bjerre founded his fashion house in Copenhagen in 2012 and has since then become one of Denmark’s favourite up and coming designers – and for a very good reason!
