Firey young label, Amxander combines powerfully expressive prints with a desire to shake up the world of men’s fashion. Having previously worked under Mary Katrantzou, Australian designer, Jason Alexander Pang founded Amxander in 2013, using an impressive breadth of techniques- from painting to digital manipulation- to create his distinctive designs. The third collection- Solidus 3- builds upon this strong print-based precedent. Arguably the designer’s most free-spirited of offerings to date, garments form the canvas for abstract, textural brushstrokes, broken only by an occasional dose of clean black or white. The dynamic lookbook plays upon the abstract expressionism theme, capturing Amxander’s founding zeal for non-conformity against the constraints of traditional menswear. Garments are, therefore, inherently wearable; uncomplicated street wear silhouettes and modern materials are key. This is contemporary menswear at its most experimental.
