Riding the current wave of Nineties nostalgia, cult New York based retailer Opening Ceremony have hit the nail smartly on the head by collaborating for SS13 with one of the most iconic brands of the time; DKNY. The collaboration utilises the classic logo’s and designs, which must rank as some of the most instantly recognisable of the era, such as the bold and brash ‘DKNY’ juxtasposed the New York City skyline, in a limited edition capsule collection. DKNY was a pioneer of streetwear fashion in the Nineties and the capsule resurrects a finely curated selection of the decades key fashions with an aesthetic pulled from the hip-hop/sportswear culture of the time. These include platform sneakers, zip-front jumpsuits, hoodies, maxi skirts, over sized tees and cropped puffer jackets in pure 90’s monochrome. The campaign features none other that Brit model of the moment, Cara Delevingne.
