Orlebar Brown’s AW14 presentation offered a pleasant dish to the day in contrast to the cold, wet weather that met the public as the first round of seasonal collections were unveiled in London today. With an emphasis on varied destinations and on travel this season, the viewer saw city outlines printed onto shorts, with models standing almost as if waiting for the lights at a cross road to change in a busy town or city. Equipped with stylish shades, bright body warmers and calmer tones of khaki, murky green and black on pants, the overall colour palette was far from limited.
If you looked closely, figures dressed in bright shorts and tropical print tops could be seen lurking amongst dense palm trees, almost giving the illusion of an exciting Safari. As pink Flamingos waddled across the base of white t-shirts, guests were treated to fresh, flavoured water, straight from the coconut. Evidently, everything from the colour scheme, prints, refreshments and location was considered, resulting in a strong, well tailored but relaxed presentation piece overall.
