When the underground grunge scene collided with luxury urban street style, it created Neco London. Despite being a relatively new face on the scene, stylist and designer ‘Neco’ has successfully made his mark on the fashion industry. Boasting a solid list of loyal celebrity clients as well as an impressive collection of editorials and video shoots, he’s set to cause quite the stir this year with the unveiling of his new pieces. From hats and kicks down to the location choices for his lookbook shoots, there is almost something religious yet futuristic about his edgy street-wear ensembles. From customised watches and sunglasses to studded kicks, bishop collared, leather sleeved dress-tops, embellished biker jackets and gold chain tassels, you feel a longing to after-party and live free. His collections are predominantly black and solemn with gold & silver clashes layered on one other, a signature Neco is most known for besides his use of studs and leather. Each garment presents an imaginative take on the gold-luxe/daring grunge-rock look and all individually reflect aspects of the designers young and spontaneous lifestyle. Having styled the likes of Cher Lloyd, Fleur and Jordan Dunn, more and more people are taking to his eccentric ways.
Neco is a walking example of his work, style and his ethos; to be over the top and to express yourself without a fear of not being accepted. Being inspired by the late designer Alexander McQueen, Pop culture and interesting Art pieces, his means of research are endless. With such a large number of visually stimulating pieces in the archive already, not to mention his growing fanbase, we expect to hear his name pop up more and more with the unveiling of his future projects!
