Combining elements of fashion and art has been attempted by many with the results varying from un-predictably exciting and refreshing to avant-garde and plain weird. Orphan Bird, the brainchild of Italian designer, Ciro Supino, and Swedish visual artist, Sara Lohman, definitely belongs to the first two categories with most of the pieces featuring a very interesting retrofuturistic twist. Already two collections in, the newly-found clothing label, focuses mostly on linear forms with minimal lines of architectural nature. Zipped details blend perfectly within the designs, providing them with a more contemporary edge. Importance to detail doesn’t stop there though, with traditional Japanese footwear also making their appearance, adding something extra to the overall plain styling. Very curious to see what the young duo will bring to the table over the next seasons.
